ADC with a Teenager

After my NDE in 1978, I had a ghostly spirit hanging around me.   It was strange but I didn’t know any different. I was only 18. (My best friend had passed away a few months prior to my NDE. See:  Healing Blindness)  I returned from the NDE with my physical memories of my friend buried in the subconscious. I had amnesia after my NDE – so I didn’t remember any of my friends or family, living or dead. I spent six months trying to talk to people about the mystical aftermath of my NDE as well as trying to recover my forgotten memories.

People thought I was insane: especially when it came to the matter of communicating with the ‘departed.” People where sharing their understanding with me – right or wrong.

Someone told me,

“That sort of thing is against ‘God’s law.’ Man’s law is based on God’s law – so – you’re breaking both God’s law and man’s law. They going to arrest you and carry you away in a butterfly net and a straight jacket and put you in a padded cell. Better send that demon of a ghost on its way before it does you in.”

It was very hard to talk about the spiritual experience of my NDE – and the mystical aftermath.

I had been doing my own praying on the matter and the messages I felt I was receiving in dreams – was – the new “ghostly” friendship was something blessed by our Maker.

I carried on a “new friendship” with the ghostly spirit of my former best friend. I had no memories of him as a human. (This was par for the course for me. I had no memories of friends or family due to my amnesia.) People told me that I had buried his memories to save myself from the pain of his loss and in the process – had buried everyone else’s memories as well. His spirit was telling me the same thing. It was sort of an indirect and discrete relationship. I never knew when his “spiritual voice” was going to transmit a message to me ESP like.

I showed over 50 people his ghost – because – it was the thing to do at the time. People didn’t react quite like I expected. I had a lot of people in an uproar. They didn’t like the idea of the spirits of the dead walking among them.

Six months after my NDE – I moved to a new city – in an effort to let the hometown community settle down. My “ghostly friend” tagged along with me. I was trying to put the past behind me and didn’t want to go through another “frightful” haunting. 50 people were shaking in their boots about the sight of my friendly “Casper.” That is what I came to call his spirit. I just thought of it like Casper. He wasn’t out to hurt people as much as he was trying to help people.

In the new town his spirit was always pulling shenanigans to let me know of his “spiritual presence” in the new home. I was worried about the neighbors finding out I had a ghost living in my house with me. I was always telling him,

“Keep quiet and keep out of sight. DON’T go showing your ghostly self to none of the neighbors. Go hang out at the cemetery and find you some friends of your own kind. Ya’ll hang out there and don’t go bringing any strange ghosts home with you.”
