Healing Blindness

When I woke up with amnesia the NDE trip into the light became like a lucid dream to my mind. When I tried to give testimony of my 'afterlife trip into the light' my friends and family were telling me it was something that only happened within myself and didn't have a basis in any type of reality.  The first time I felt I had an ADC type experience was with a blind man as my guide.  It was the first time in the aftermath of my NDE where I had someone expressing a sense of a 'shared reality' concerning a spiritual being as well as a spiritual presence.  It became the first of many such experiences that laid ahead of me in my journey.  This is the story of how I remember that first ADC type incident.

Something concerning blindness happened to me AFTER my ‘afterlife’ experience in 1978. I worked in a restaurant and had been an employee their since I was 15. I started out washing dishes and when I was 18 - I was the assistant manager. We had a piano player for entertainment. The piano player was blind from birth. I had the duty of letting the blind piano player (Rick) know when the crowd had slimmed out enough for him to have a schooner of beer before the taxi came to take him home. I had known him for three years prior to my NDE and amnesia.

He had heard about all the rumors concerning my ‘mystical’ experiences.

There was the before and after effect. I couldn’t remember all the conversations I had shared with anyone - including Rick.

In my teen years - everyone referred to me as a walking and talking mystic. I had a very insightful mind toward the mysteries. 3 months prior to my car crash - I was telling everyone that I was about to hid my ‘mystic mind’ from myself. I was giving it away. When I did - I wasn’t going to remember anything or anyone. I told everyone that I needed to walk with a normal mind ‘absent’ of the mystical mind.

My family and friends were slightly prepared for the aftermath of my ‘amnesia.’ It still stunned them. When I saw the movie Total Recall - it reminded me of the six months after my 1978 car crash. I was constantly running into people who told me,

“You warned me this was going to happen to you. Well - you told me when this moment came I was to tell you something while you were walking around with a blank mind.”

My nickname during my teen years was either “Lucky Charm” or “Grasshopper.” My friends told me they took to calling me “Lucky Charm” after the TV commercial for the cereal. One friend told me,

“You were constantly giving people food for thought that was magically delicious. You could pull rabbits out of hats sometimes.”

While I was walking with a normal mind - I had no idea what people were talking about. I was bound to rational logic and nothing they said about my ‘mystical teen years’ made sense.

The blind piano player called me to his side one late evening at the end of the bar. He told me the same thing. I had given him something he was supposed to give me back when the time came. I asked him what it was and he said,

“Sight.”

He said he was going to teach me how to see as I had once seen. I told him that sounded really funny coming from a man who had been blind since birth. He told me he could see me in that moment and told me to hold up some fingers so he could prove he had ’sight’ of me. I did it five times in a row and he told me the correct numbers of fingers I had up each time. The sixth time - I tried to fool him. I didn’t hold up my hands with any fingers extended. He told me,

“Your funny Dave. Your hands are behind your back.”

I freaked out. He was healed. I ran and got my friends and co-workers to verify that Rick had sight to see. They all shrugged their shoulders.

“Dave - you and Rick used to do this all the time in the past. He isn’t seeing you with the eyes of his head. He is seeing you with the eyes of his heart. He is only able to do it with you and no one else.”

Rick told me that he was supposed to give me ’slight sight’ of something when the time came. He said,

“You’re not the only one I can see. I can see your friend standing behind you. I can hear as well. I hear what your friend is telling me to tell you.”

I turned quickly to look and I saw the ’slight sight’ of something before it disappeared into thin air. I thought it as my imagination at first. It was a ‘figure of light’ that appeared like a vapor with sparkling light shinning throughout it. I shook my head to shake off the stunning effect. Rick had a hold of my hand the whole time. He was telling me,

“Do not be afraid. You have adjust you mind slightly to protect yourself from the fear. It is okay. It is your friend. He has come to you to be your angel for awhile. Trust him and do not fear him. He is one your side and watching your back while you walk with blindness to the things of your past.”

I asked Rick if he really could see what I just thought I had seen. Rick said,

“I can still see him. He has his thumb up and telling me thanks for helping him out. Shhhh. It is our little secret. Your angel of a friend is with you night and day. Use your heart to hear and see the mysteries your about to explore again - from a blind man’s point of view.”

This was the first of many such encounters with this angel of a friend.  Prior to my car wreck, NDE and amnesia - one of our co-workers had died in a tragic twist of fate and circumstances.  Everyone was telling me that he had been my 'best friend.'  According to the testimony of others (due to my amnesia or denial of events,) we had only known one another a few months prior to his death.  My friends and family felt a part of the reason for my 'denial/amnesia' was due to the fact that I had taken his death hard.  When Rick the Piano player introduced me to the spirit - there was no doubt the spirit was of the 'best friend' who had died three months prior.
